Gooseberries provide an excellent source of vitamin C. Gooseberries are 88% water, 10% carbohydrates, and less than 1% each of protein and fat. Indian gooseberry or amla is undeniably a powerhouse of nutrients. It has been a common ingredient in the ancient Indian medicinal practice of Ayurveda. It is most commonly eaten in the form of ‘Murabbas’ which are sweet and spicy balls of Amla.
