Description
All parts of the coriander plant are edible, but the fresh leaves and the dried seeds are most commonly used. Leaves and seeds are used fresh or dried as a herb in cooking. Coriander leaves fight food poisoning and lower blood sugar levels. They relieve urinary tract infections and help in maintaining a healthy menstrual cycle while preventing neurological inflammations and diseases. Coriander is a wonderful source of dietary fiber, manganese, iron and magnesium as well. In addition, coriander leaves are rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K and protein. They also contain small amounts of calcium, phosphorous, potassium, thiamin, niacin and carotene.
